These principles assist patients who are completing a course of physiotherapy or are ready for discharge from active physiotherapy treatment, but who are not quite ready to participate in their activity to the degree of enthusiasm they might like to. Pilates exercise is an integral part of the therapeutic process at the Centre for Manual Physiotherapy.

For the purposes of extended health insurance, your Physiotherapist must supervise these sessions. Supervision takes place as a pre-Pilates conversation between your Pilates instructor and your Physiotherapist, as well as ongoing analysis and observation throughout your therapeutic treatment. Your injury, your goals, and most importantly the indications and contraindications surrounding your physical status, are discussed.
